Medical Benefit Premiums: Great News!
Through creative negotiating from Benefit Development Group, = BCBS has agreed to hold the line on any increase in premiums for the dioces= an group.  Originally a 3 to 4% increase was projected, however, we ma= y now count on one more year without an increase - our 4th year without an = increase.

Cost of Living= Adjustment
(COLA)
The Diocesan Council recommended in September that a= djustments should fall in the range of 5% to 6%.  The Council acknowle= dged that the recommendation seemed high, however, recently Social Security= announced the 2009 adjustment for benefits as 5.8%.  This is a good i= ndication that the recommendation from the Council was an accurate predicti= on for the coming year.
Audits of all = Parishes and Diocesan Entities are due in the Bishop's o= ffice in September each year.  Parishes should move immediately to com= plete their audits of 2007, including review by the vestry, and mail the ma= terials to Carpenter House.
