195th Diocesan Convention - "Good News for a New Day"




195th Convention of The Episcopal Church in Alabama

We look forward to gathering for the 195th Annual Diocesan Convention, which will take place from Thursday, February 5, to Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Camp McDowell (105 Delong Rd., Nauvoo, AL).

This year, our convention is on the theme “Good News for a New Day,” taken from Lamentations 3:22-23: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”. This theme invites us to embrace God’s ever-renewing mercy and share the Good News of Christ’s love in fresh ways each day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION

 

  • MEETING LOCATIONS & AGENDA

    Convention kicks off with dinner at 5:30 pm Thursday afternoon, February 5th, followed by the Celebration Eucharist at 7 pm that evening. The first business session begins at 9 am on Friday, February 6, followed by resolution hearings and caucus elections later that afternoon. Friday concludes with a Celebration Dinner. The final business session begins at 9 am on Saturday with the convention adjourning by 11:45 am. You can view the preliminary agenda HERE.

    ● Thursday worship will be held at St. Francis Chapel.

    ● Breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings will be in Stough Lodge.

    ● Friday and Saturday business sessions, lunch and dinners will take place in The Doug.

    ● Friday resolution hearings and caucus elections will take place in various locations at Camp McDowell.

    ● Ministry Fair and fellowship gatherings will be in Hall Hall.

Meet The Speaker

195th Diocesan Convention -

Bishop Jenny Andison

A former Area Bishop for the Diocese of Toronto, Bishop Jenny is the Rector (Senior Pastor) of St. Paul’s Bloor Street and St. George’s Grange Park, leading a growing family of churches to share the good news of Jesus with Toronto. Bishop Jenny was born in England and has lived in Pakistan, India, Singapore and Japan. She earned an Hons. BA from Queen’s University in 1994 and received her Master of Divinity from the University of Toronto (Wycliffe College) in 1997. In 2017, Wycliffe College honored the bishop with a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) and she also holds an Honorary Doctorate from Tyndale University. When not busy at the church, she enjoys reading biographies, meals with friends and family, and playing with her two miniature dachshunds – Xerxes and Woflie.
