Statement of Theology

As Christians, we believe all of creation was called into being by the very Word of God. The Bible reveals that our Creator calls us to be stewards of creation and to love our neighbors. Inspired by the unsurpassed love God showed us by sending Jesus Christ, God’s only son, to redeem us through his death and resurrection, we respond to God’s commands. Therefore, The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama is committed to environmental education, advocacy, and action for our neighbors and all of creation.

Creation Care Resources

Creation care is a faithful response to the gospel. Whether it’s through cultivating gardens, embracing renewable energy, or letting Jesus challenge how we live on this earth, these reflections invite us to see stewardship of creation as central to our walk with Christ. Explore how faithful discipleship can bloom in soil, sunlight, and Spirit.

We also invite you to share your own reflections, stories, or practices related to caring for God’s creation. Your voice could be featured in a future issue of The Alabama Episcopalian or on our website. For more information, please contact Claire Cotten at ccotten@dioala.org
